This is a piece which is made from some work I made whilst managing my family through trauma. So it's about undergoing trauma, and repairing myself and my family.

It explores ideas about our stories and how they shape us and make us who we are; how we wear our damage on the inside and carry it around with us.

It is also about repair; how things can be pulled apart and mended with time and attention, and how repetitive, habitual making helps us find our way.

It’s about the beauty of imperfection, and how damage and repair shapes us into something new and beautiful.

The flimsy lining carries patches which pull and shape it; the outer garment is stitched with tiny bright seeds of hope.

Each stitch holds a moment of lived experience.
