HOPE PROGRAMME FOR CARERS

CARING TOGETHER

I started doing art around July 2020, during the first lockdown.

I use art as a way of participating in mindfulness, but I also use it as an escapism. I do watercolour art mainly as well as using other mix media such as acrylics and pastels. I get a lot of enjoyment and peace when I am doing my art and it feels like I am in my own little world.

I came across the Hope Programme through Carers Matter Norfolk.

The hardest thing for me was accepting our family circumstances and just having to get on living with it. It's living with grief all the time. Seeing hubby and eldest daughter losing their abilities and mobility. And not being able to stop it or control their health conditions. Having to be strong and loving, caring for them ,and enjoying the simple good things in life keeping positiveness and hope too.
