Tom Spurling

ANGEL - Seven years in our arms

Transitional Hepatoblastoma

Tom was a very happy, fun and adventurous boy.

He was one of three boys and a twin.

In 2018, Tom was unwell with a tummy ache and was admitted to our local hospital. Devastatingly, they discovered Tom had a tumour on his liver. He was then under the care of King's College Hospital - Liver Unit, Southampton Piam Brown Oncology and Poole Hospital Dorset.

After 9 months of intense treatment, a liver resection and neurosurgery, heartbreakingly, Tom died on 1st April 2019 just before his 8th birthday.

Tom loved art, he was very creative and found great comfort in using these skills whilst in hospital. This picture came home from school just before he was diagnosed. It's incredibly special and means so much to our family.
