Ben was a huge fan of the Beano, mischief and pranks. He earned himself the nickname of 'Bennis the Menace' - and this became his cartoon name in his very own comic strip in the Beano. Nigel Auchterlounie created the script and Hunt Emerson illustrated the story. Ben was sent copies of the work in progress as he was so poorly at the time - something the Beano had never done before.

The Beano was so important to Ben, he was such an avid comic reader. Comics helped us through treatment. Ben was able to see his comic strip before he was stolen, it meant the world to him - and to us. We were kindly gifted the original artwork by the Beano, for which we are very grateful.
