Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust is the certified provider of the Hope Programme in Devon.

HOPE is a free six-week self-management course designed for people aged 18 or over living in Devon. Led by trained facilitators, each session blends proven techniques with supportive peer discussion, helping participants discover what matters to them and build tools that last well beyond the course.

Please be aware the places on the programme are filled on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.


How HOPE can help

Course themes:

  • Managing stress, fatigue and sleep – simple strategies to restore energy

  • Mindfulness & dealing with setbacks – practical ways to stay present and resilient

  • Communication & relationships – skills to strengthen connections and ask for help

  • Getting active, creative and eating well – small changes that boost body and mood

  • Using your strengths – recognising what’s already within you to support future goals 

What to expect:

By week six, many participants tell us they: 

  • Feel less isolated through shared experience and peer support 

  • Feel more confident handling anxiety, low mood or uncertainty 

  • Use relaxation techniques to reset mind and body 

  • Approach goals with clear, achievable plans 

  • Continue to self‑manage health and wellbeing at home and in the community 

All sessions are free of charge and delivered via Microsoft Teams.
