HOPE PROGRAMME FOR CARERS

CARERS TRUST

I wrote this poem in tribute to my beloved father, who tragically passed away after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis.

For me, poetry is the perfect medium for self-expression, allowing me to channel and vent difficult emotions into something tangible - something that has the power to resonate with - and provide comfort to others.

Poetry is a verbal artform: it sings the song of the soul and conveys the otherwise, inexpressible. Poetry provides a true catharsis and healing, both for its creator, and for its audience.

I work as a Young Adult Fantasy novelist and have two previously published books. I also create cinematic book trailers.

My creative writing, far from following the trend of dystopian futures, superheroes and general edginess, is the polar opposite. Whilst I deal with topics that might be uncomfortable, and write scenes of challenges and peril, it is my characters that breathe life into my stories - characters who are not superheroes, one-dimensional villains, or display excellent fighting skills.

My characters, though some have special abilities, are relatable and experience the same emotional gamut and personal challenges omnipresent to most of us.

Above all, my stories promote triumph over adversity: the ultimate message of HOPE.
